Let’s be clear, this isn’t about running for President. This is about your town. Some examples of New Jersey local elected offices are Mayor, Township or Borough Council, Board of Education and Fire Commissioner. With a New Jersey Primary Election coming up in June, this is a great time to get started on your campaign.
Here’s what you need to do:
- File a petition with the New Jersey Division of Elections to get your name on the ballot.
- Organize your Committee, according to the State of New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission regulations.
- Appoint a Campaign Treasurer.
- Establish a Campaign Depository.
- Understand NJ Election Law Enforcement Commission regulations regarding campaign contributions and expenditures.
